There's an App for That

Guitar Toolkit

This app’s interface is clean and simple, and provides several tools that any guitar player would find useful. It includes a tuner that can operate in chromatic mode or it can isolate notes based on your selected instrument and tuning mode, and a metronome. In addition, the app lets you fine-tune its tools by instrument type. It defaults to six-string guitar, but you can choose seven- or 12-string, various types of bass, as well as banjo, ukelele and mandolin. The app also includes a chord finder which works hand-in-hand with the app’s Instruments and Fretboard modes.

Available from the iTunes store for $9.99.

Tip of the Month

Cello Finger Pattern Charts

This month's addition to our free teaching aids are charts designed to give cello students a visual guide to the placement of fingers, or finger patterns, for notes in each key. These are an excellent addition to our Cello Fingerboard Charts (beginning and advanced).

The files we have created are non-copyrighted, so you are free to make copies as needed. They will be available on cardstock soon at The Music Store, or you can print the chart for sharp or flat key signatures from home. Cello, and Bass finger pattern charts are still to come!

Staff in the Spotlight

Web Department Staff

Erin Lanus
Erin Lanus
After 4 years, we are sorry to say goodbye to Erin Lanus, our Webmaster. She has constructed our website and shopping cart, designed and sent out our newsletters, created our advertising, and prepared invitations to our workshops. While we will miss her, she is stepping out to complete her Ph.D in computer science from ASU and we wish her great success.

In her place, we will depend on the skills of Wendy Moellering and Amy Swietlik who have been assisting Erin, and now will be our new web gurus. If you need any web site help, they are now the ones to call.
