Leia Wasbotten
Dr. Leia Wasbotten has been teaching voice for over a decade, both in her private studio and at the collegiate-level. She is currently the Artistic Director of the Music Theatre department at Mesa Community College where she teaches all vocal performance-based classes and Vocal Music Directs the musicals. Along with teaching at MCC, she also sings on the worship team at Saint Thomas More Catholic Church in Glendale and provides recording vocals for local artists and songwriters. Leia received her Doctorate of Musical Arts from Arizona State University in 2022, focusing her research on contemporary commercial singing and pedagogy, her Masters of Music from ASU, and her BA in music from Penn State University. She teaches classical, pop, musical theatre, jazz, singer-songwriter, country, gospel, and R&B styles. Vocal health is the primary goal for all of Leia's students, no matter the style of singing.
